Founder-Led IT Support in Kansas City — You Work Directly With Seth
Core Tech KC is not a large MSP with account managers and rotating helpdesk staff. It's one experienced IT professional — Seth Smith — who manages environments directly, communicates clearly, and stays accountable for the outcome. If that's what you're looking for, here's how Core Tech KC works and why it was built this way.

Seth Smith — Founder, Core Tech KC
I started Core Tech KC because I kept seeing the same problem: organizations with legitimate IT needs being underserved by providers who were too large to care, too slow to respond, or too focused on selling tools rather than solving problems.
Schools dealing with wireless that never quite worked right. Nonprofits paying for Microsoft 365 licenses that were misconfigured from day one. Small businesses with no documentation of their own environment — dependent on whoever set things up last, hoping nothing breaks.
The fix for most of these organizations isn't a bigger MSP contract. It's someone who knows what they're doing, shows up consistently, and takes ownership of the environment over time. That's what Core Tech KC is built to be.
Background
Before founding Core Tech KC, I managed IT across four campuses at Palm Springs Unified School District — one high school, one K–8, one middle school, and one elementary school — supporting more than 5,500 students and staff.
That experience covered the full stack: reliable wireless networks across large campuses, Chromebook device management at scale, identity systems, student filtering, day-to-day operational support for teachers and administrators, and the particular challenge of keeping technology predictable in an environment where the school year creates hard deadlines and no tolerance for downtime.
It also taught me what good IT support looks like from the inside — clear documentation, proactive maintenance, plain-language communication with leadership, and systems designed to be supportable rather than impressive.
I've been based in Kansas City since 2018, working with schools, nonprofits, and small businesses throughout the metro.
How Core Tech KC Works
You work directly with me
Not an account manager. Not a helpdesk technician who gets a ticket after you call. When you contact Core Tech KC, you reach Seth — the same person who designed your environment, knows your systems, and is responsible for the outcome. That means less handoff, less repetition, and more accountability.
Environments are built to stay manageable
The goal is never to create dependency or complexity. Every environment Core Tech KC manages is built to be clean, documented, and straightforward to support — so that changes happen in planned steps, problems are caught before they affect operations, and nothing critical exists only in one person's memory.
Communication is direct and plain
Leadership and staff get honest updates, practical options, and clear explanations — not technical deflection or jargon that requires translation. When something needs a decision, you'll have the information you need to make it.
Long-term relationships, not transaction-by-transaction support
Core Tech KC works best with organizations that want a consistent IT partner who knows their environment over time — not a vendor who shows up when something breaks and disappears when it doesn't.
